Updates App with Android Shortcuts Support, Easier Sharing

While home security cameras are often set up to catch thieves, it’s much more common for them to record bloopers. From a funny falls to crazy catches, security cameras are some of the more reliable sources of viral videos. But it’s not always easy to get those sharable moments out to the world.

However, the latest update to the app, which powers access to many home security systems, is making sharing a simple option. The updated app uses the native sharing features of iOS and Android, letting you share a captured clip in the same way you’d share a video you took yourself.

Just hit the share button and will figure out the right resolution for the medium you’re trying to send through. Now, sharing to Facebook, Twitter and YouTube is easier than ever.

The company is also adding support for Android Shortcuts, allowing users to do a range of quick actions without even launching the app. That means it’s easier than ever to arm your system, turn on your connected lights or perform other simple tasks quickly.

Other updates include the ability to zoom in on video recordings, plus doorbell alerts with a custom doorbell tone for more helpful notifications. With powering the mobile experience for services like Frontpoint, AlarmGrid and Protection 1, this is a big upgrade for tons of home security users.
