The Best Bluetooth Trackers of 2019

If you’re forgetful like me, Bluetooth trackers can be life-changing. Just attach them to your wallet, keys, or whatever you don’t want to lose. You’ll be able to see where your items are through a mobile app, and even ring the trackers’ built-in sirens. All in all, Bluetooth trackers are a pretty great part of being alive in 2019. But which one to choose?

In this review, I go over the best Bluetooth trackers for range, community network, durabilities, and batteries. Let’s go!

Best Bluetooth Tracker for Durability

Cube Tracker

The Cube Tracker works in temperatures from negative four to 150 degrees Fahrenheit, which should cover most climates. Combined with a great IP rating of 67, meaning it’s dust tight and can be immersed in water up to a meter high, I feel pretty confident that this thing can withstand less than ideal conditions. Some other stats: the Cube Tracker has an 80-decibel siren, about as loud as a snow blower; a one-year, replaceable battery, and finally, an integration with Amazon Alexa. Alexa, where’s my Cube Tracker?

The negatives of the Cube Tracker are its poorly-rated Android app and its range of only a hundred feet, definitely on the lower end. I would recommend the Cube Tracker to an iPhone user, especially if you also have Amazon Alexa. Did I mention it doubles as a shutter button?

What happens if you lose your Bluetooth tracker and you’re already out of range? Is it gone forever?

Fortunately, that’s not the case. Every single Bluetooth tracker I review has some version of a Community Network. Let’s say you lose your tracker and it’s totally out of range. All you have to do is mark it as lost in the app and wait for someone else to detect it through their app! Anyone with an app can help others find their trackers, without even knowing they’re doing anything. All of these networks are completely automatic and anonymous. The only person who will be affected is you— ideally with a notification that your tracker has been found.

If you’re looking for the best community network feature, Tile wins hands-down. They hold about 80% of the U.S market share for Bluetooth trackers, so there are more Tile apps downloaded than any of their competitors. More apps means a higher chance that your item will be find, the entire point of the tracker in the first place. Whichever Tile tracker you go with, you know that you’re part of the largest community of Bluetooth tracker users in the U.S.

Best Bluetooth Tracker for Batteries

Cube Shadow

Cube Shadow

If you’re looking for a Bluetooth tracker that you can keep even if its battery runs out, look no further than the Cube Shadow. It’s the only Bluetooth tracker I’ve seen that is rechargeable— yes, you read that right. On top of that, one charge lasts two months, and they include a USB charger, preventing you to have to run out and buy new batteries periodically. Talk about convenient!

But its power source isn’t the only thing I love about the Cube Shadow. It also has a 200-foot range, an 100-decibel siren, about as loud as a handheld drill, plus an IP rating of 67. If you don’t know what that means, the Cube Shadow is completely protected against all solids and can even be immersed in water up to one m and still function normally. Couple that with its temperature range of negative four to 150 degrees Fahrenheit, and you better believe this is a Bluetooth tracker for the ages.

Best Bluetooth Tracker for Range

A tracker’s range determines the distance at which your tracker can be found through your app. Obviously, when it comes to range, the bigger the better. Typically, Bluetooth trackers have ranges of anywhere from 100 to 200 feet, but one Bluetooth tracker stood out above all the rest.

The Tile Pro has a whopping 300-foot range, the largest range I’ve seen by 100 feet. Aside from that, the tracker boasts an 128-decibel siren (about as loud as a balloon popping), a replaceable one-year battery, and integrations with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. Both iPhone and Android users love the Tile app, with ratings of 4.5 and 4.2, respectively. I’m also loving the fact that the Tile Pro will work in temperatures from 14 to 140 degrees Fahrenheit without an issue! Tile, being the most popular Bluetooth tracker company in the U.S, also has a fantastic community network— but I’ll get to that next.

The only downside of the Tile Pro is its price. At $35, its on the pricier side for Bluetooth trackers, which typically run anywhere from $25 to $30. But for one hundred feet added to your range, I’d say the additional five to $10 is worth it.
