Micah Jamal Streiff, who has a Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology, last worked as a Senior Design Engineer at Acuity Brands. In that position, Streiff designed lighting fixtures for the brands Mark Architectural Lighting and Peerless Lighting, both under the Acuity umbrella. Currently, Streiff is pursuing his Master of Public Health at Georgia State University. “I am interested in the intersection of public health and technology and what my engineering and design background can offer to this field,” he told Security Baron in an interview.
Streiff began his professional study of Mechanical Engineering at Tennessee State University, completing his Bachelors of Science at Morehouse College with a degree in General Science. While still in undergrad, he interned at Minick Engineering, Inc, GE Energy, and Newell Rubbermaid. It was the latter company where he got his first full time job after college as an Associate Research & Development Engineer, later being promoted to Operations Engineer.
After four years at Newell Rubbermaid, Streiff worked for three years as a Product Development Engineer at East West Manufacturing before transitioning into his current role at Acuity Brands, where he has been for the past two years. Streiff is excited about his current role in Security Baron’s Expert Network, where he will verify our smart light bulb reviews for technological accuracy.
