50 Safest Cities
The largest state east of the Mississippi River, Georgia is known for its shining cities, beautiful farmland and don’t forget, its juicy peaches! You can climb Stone Mountain in Atlanta in the morning and spend the evening relaxing on a beach in Savannah. Whether you’re a city slicker or a country mouse, Georgia has just the place for you.
Alright, I’ll get specific. If you’re ever in Georgia, make sure you don’t miss:
- George Aquarium: Home to over 100,000 animals and several thousand species, this public aquarium is a great place to take your kids for an educational and fun time.
- World of Coca Cola: This museum in Atlanta outlines the entire history of the Coca-Cola Company on a 20-acre complex.
- Rock City Gardens: Located in the town of Lookout Mountain, Rock City features a walking trail carved from ancient rock formations. Believe me, the views are breathtaking!
If you’re planning a visit or even moving to Georgia, it’s important that you’re educated on its safest cities. The number one safest city in Georgia is Johns Creek, a northeastern suburb of Atlanta with a population just over 85,000. With a high median income of $113,609, its residents enjoy low violent crime rates, only .29 for every 1,000 people, plus low property crime rates, only 6.76 for the same population, both numbers down from last year. Other safe cities in Georgia include Holly Springs, Peachtree City, as well as Roswell. Unfortunately its largest city of Atlanta did not make the list.
This statistic shows the number of violent crimes per 1,000 people in the past year. Violent crimes include forcible rape, robbery, aggravated assault, murder and nonnegligent manslaughter, as defined by the FBI.
Finally, this number shows how many property crimes were committed in the past year per every 1,000 of the city’s residents. Property crimes include burglary, motor vehicle theft, arson and larceny-theft.
