Comparison Overview
The Honeywell sensors provided by Protection 1 are considered by most analysts some of the best available in the marketplace today. The AlarmForce detectors, however, while proprietary, receive almost universally high marks from users also. Though a bulkier and not quite as aesthetically pleasing as the Honeywell products, they function just as well according to the testing we have seen.

AlarmForce has 17 proprietary monitoring centers throughout North America. Protection 1 outsources their monitoring to licensed, third-party companies.

Protection 1 and AlarmForce essentially lease you the packaging equipment so there are no upfront costs for components. Depending on the package you choose, each of the companies may charge you an activation and/or installation fee. Sometimes this fee is waived by the local installer.

Both companies offer control panels that are Z-Wave compatible but AlarmForce has very limited Z-Wave offerings.

Protection 1 and Link International offer the industry-standard, three-year monitoring contracts with all their packages.

AlarmForce has packages for medical monitoring only and charges separate prices for that service.
